Animal Rehabilitation

I am sure most of you have read my most recent posts on facebook and the post about the new adventure that Hubby brought home for me to take care of.

Happy to report that we are seeing positive results and more on that is gonna come later.

We have decided that we are going to add Wildlife rehabilitation to our list of projects.

We have spent the last week coordinating with private out of state wildlife rehabilitation specialists to ensure things go “swimmingly” for our first “case’ as an apprentice wildlife rehabilitation facility.

I have to say that i was pleasantly surprised by the support we have received in such a short amount of time for our first hands on step into this very important and critical task.

The requirement to get our wildlife and rehabilitation license(This license also opens up our facility to become a small animal care, foster and adoption facility) is 5,000 hours and that is a very intimidating number but this is honestly one of those things that make it all worth it in the long run. The cost of the classes and materials we will need for the classes is a total of $1075.00 so we will be raising funds to get to that class by selling our handmade products every chance we can get starting august 1st 2026.

If any of you have any extra or unused pet items lying around taking up space please consider sending items our way to help us get things ready for our state inspection which is scheduled for January 18th, 2027. We will have a post with a list of items we will need to make this happen.

Stay tuned to see how our temporary OHH house guests grow and thrive while waiting for release in September 2026.
