Trying old seeds

I was on a “wild hair” mission the other day and went digging through the archives from previous websites we have worked on. Well our archives are a scary place, I almost lost my hand to the dust bunnies.

This is a fun kids project so I recommend doing the research and pick your own succulent seeds and start them maybe you will have better luck than we will.

Roughly 5 years ago when we started our first big experiment I bought a mix variety pack of succulent seeds from Amazon. We opened the pack but I never kept any that did get planted so I have no clue if they ever worked or not.

So in light of that thought, even though, at this age they probably won’t sprout but we have the extra stuff so we try it anyway.

We used about half of our seeds left over which covered the entire paper plate which was wrapped in aluminum foil to hold water and keep the plate in good condition. A light coating of kids play sand roughly 1/8 th of an inch deep, then a ton of seeds. We put it into a gallon size ziploc king baggie and placed it up on a shelf in our laundry room.

So Now we wait to see if anything happens or if we just pour the sand into the banana plant.
