This potato experiment was done with the idea of apartment living arragnements so you can grow your own potatos pretty much anywhere as long as you have a big enough planter or enough pots to give yourself a good harvest. . .
Earlier this spring about March – April ish, I got a wild hair and went seed shopping at our local TS.
I i decided that we needed a potato plant. I found a small sprout, brought it home and put it in a fancy old time looking plastic vase looking planter.
We let the kids claim it so they watered it and asked for help when needed. It got pretty big leaves then the deer ate the leaves and they were sad. . . it wasnt dead yet so I babied it for the rest of summer .Harvest time came so we dug it up to repot and found so many tiny potatos.
For our family it wasnt quite enough for one meal of yummy fried potatos so I put them back in more pots for a hopfully bigger spring harvest.
A few days ago i noticed that my potatos i replanted kept getting dug out of the pot. . . i thought it was the kids playing around until i caught a darn squirel digging out the potatos and replacing them with pinecones.

Everything has been moved from that particular spot and so far left in tact so spring hopes for a bigger harvest.
. . . We will be moving all of our remaining plants indoors for the upcoming winter to experiment with indoor/outdoor garden plants for a year round harvest to minimize the jars taking up so much shelf space
