Last night me and the kiddos made some homemade chocolate syrup with some of the basic home ingredients.
Lets call it a ” Toss it all in the pot” recipe

Sugar, water, cocoa powder, salt and vanilla extract(home made not store bought)
I will admit that I did not create this recipe on my own i found one that fit closest to our needs/wants and tweaked it to fit our/My flavor preference a bit better.
I put the water in the pot then turned the stove on to medium heat to warm it up while i measured and added the rest. sugar first to start melting then adding cocoa powder and salt mixing well no lumps then adding the vanilla extract.

“Homestead” projects sometimes require a lot of dishes and clean up.
As soon as it was poured into the jars Dev was disappointed because the flavor was not as chocolatey as expected, but . . . when it cooled enough to place in refrigerator we tried it again and the flavor is so much stronger. . .

Don’t forget to check out our upcoming posts about all of our projects including homemade vanilla and cinnamon extracts
