Today will make the official start of the new ohh project. 2025 has been our first run where we are working out the kinks and learning as much as possible by self teaching.
I have new and better ideas that might actually . . . . . finally work to an advantage instead of just being a sad sad lesson learned the “hard way”.. .
For you friends, Don’t hesitate to share your own experiences from where ever you may be or may have been, on account of we want to make a happy and helpful learning environment
*The best ways to learn some things might be hands on so u can feel. . . . . . really FEEL what your doing.
*To see and experience what kind of simple and easy help you can provide to make that small difference for a little bit better environment.
** We live in Montana so we have colder nasty -40* weather during our winters so we have to do things differently that somone from a warmer climate might have to do.
** The Grasshopper epidemic(They chewed everything down to the nub in 14 hours flat (2700 plants))
** The drought that sucked the life out of everything green(100+* most of that summer)
** The horribly rude neighbor hood deers(I worked so hard on that lettuce, was set to harvested 30 heads the next morning)
** My own nightmare Infestation of Bunnies (50+)(That went south really fast)
** All three of our Ducks happen to be Male so we have no chances of getting eggs for the time being. (Need a Plan B,C,E,F, G all of the plans)
** Kids being kids and siblings arguing and those challenges(It’s like a war zone with these kids at home for summer)
** I didn’t want to take a chance of ending up with surprise litters of baby bunnies so I was cautious and made sure to get both girls so they could be friends and do bunny stuff right?(In this one the joke is on me because they beat the fur off each other every chance they get if left out together. . .even for like 2 minutes (in an entire 4 bedroom house mind you) so i could switch the laundry)
Honestly the hardest challenge in all of this is that our youngest was born with a severe cleft and that took a lot of time to take care of but now the kids are big enough to help and be involved(I thought I was a tough chick before this but naw i am NOT)
The things above (**)are my most recent Challenges while trying to make our life a little cleaner with the idea of Micro Homesteading. . .nothing to exciting but to me this means we have our own garden we are prepared and capable of living off grid if ever needed but we live in city limits so in a sense I am challenging some rules that I feel can be bent maybe cracked but not completely broken in certain situations with mostly supportive neighbors that think I am crazy but funny to watch.
Yes my neighbors all think I am absolutely bonkers crazy nuts but they also think its fun and entertaining because I am the neighborhood crazy lady but ‘We all hide on a hardish to find road so people up here don’t take things too personal . . . I call it OUR Mountain.
My point for all of my rambling up above this sentence right here is. . . .
It is completely normal to have a fail in everything you do. . .but the point of starting is that u don’t just give up and quit. You have to take the lesson, pick your head back up after an little cry cuz that just what you do.
When you make attachments to people or animals or even a plant that you really want to grow and look nice and feel that success even if it is just for one second. Like u crave it like when u crave a salad or BBQ. . you know you just gotta have it cuz OMG.
To make this clear now, to be open and honest. . . I created OHH Our Hobby Hut for a lot of different reasons but this is one of the biggest . . My goal for this is to make a small-ish sort of experimental project that I hope people will look at to help them see different ideas of how to help save and keep our environment healthy and good for the future generations to enjoy the way that we can do now.
I have been building this new idea up with the left overs of past projects and so far it is a hit and miss, a 50/50 for 2025 goal which is really ok because now we are really just getting started . .. . .Let’s get ready to Get DIRTY!!!
MY goal now is to post here at least 2 or 3 times a week with new info and fun things and adventures we go on through this project’s entirety. . . Our set END date for Project OHH is December 30th 2030
Don’t forget to share, like, subscribe and comment. . .
